Mastectomy Plus Radiation
Radiation may be recommended after mastectomy if:
- the tumor is larger than 5 centimeters
- the tissue removed during mastectomy does not have clear margins
- cancer cells are found in 4 or more lymph nodes
- the cancer occurred in a number of locations within the breast
