A Mother's Pride

Dear Friend,

Happy Mother’s Day! My name is Ellen Weiss and I am the fortunate mother of Dr. Marisa Weiss, the Founder and President of Breastcancer.org. Amazing that my “little girl” Marisa turns 50 years old this spring! As I look back on Marisa’s life, I am in awe of what she has accomplished: a dedicated mother to three impressive children, a respected breast oncologist, and the heart and soul of Breastcancer.org.

Every mother hopes her children will flourish when they head out into the world on their own. After years of caring, cajoling, applauding, sustaining — we realize it’s our children’s time to break free. What challenges lie ahead, what fate awaits...

Marisa was always ready to forge ahead, to meet the challenge, to do her thing. When caring for breast cancer patients became her passion, she was determined to help women around the world overcome this disease.

Marisa has nurtured, sustained, and promoted Breastcancer.org, much as a mother does her child. She watches over Breastcancer.org as it grows and cheers its successes.

She speaks proudly of its accomplishments. She foresees challenges and meets them head-on. I note her passion and her commitment to battling this disease, and as a breast cancer survivor I am especially heartened. As Marisa’s mother, I am simply proud.

Please join me in celebrating Mother’s Day, and honor mothers and daughters by supporting Breastcancer.org, my daughter’s passion — and the information lifeline to millions. Your gift of just $10 to Breastcancer.org will help maintain the power of our organization and keep this information free for grateful families all over the globe.

Sincerely,

Ellen Weiss
The proud mother of the President and Founder of Breastcancer.org
