vinca alkaloids [also called antimitotic or antimicrotubule agents; or mitotic inhibitors]

(VIN-ka AL-kuh-loydz)

Drugs that stop cancer cell growth by keeping cells from dividing and making new cells. It is a type of chemotherapy. Vincristine (brand names: Oncovin, Vincasar PES, Vincrex) and Navelbine (chemical name: vinorelbine are two vinca alkaloids used to treat breast cancer.
