infiltrating ductal carcinoma [also called IDC]

(IN-fil-trayt-ing DUK-til kar-sin-O-muh)

A cancer that can invade other tissue. It begins in the milk duct but grows into the surrounding normal tissue inside the breast. It is the most common kind of breast cancer.
