Hypericum perforatum (common name: St. John's wort)
(high-PAIR-ih-kum per-fer-RAT-um)
This is a herbal product sold as an over-the-counter treatment to improve mood, boost interest in sex, and reduce depression. Scientists are still studying it to see if it really can do these things. It is also being studied to see if it can lessen certain side effects of cancer treatment.
