goserelin (brand name: Zoladex)

(GOE-suh-re-lin)

A drug that lowers the amount of estrogen made in the body before menopause. It works by stopping the brain from telling the ovaries to make estrogen. This can slow down the growth of breast cancers that need estrogen to grow.
