filgrastim (brand name: Neupogen)

A drug that helps increase the number of white blood cells. These are special cells of your immune system that help fight infection. It belongs to the group of drugs called G-CSFs (granulocyte colony-stimulating factors). Neulasta (chemical name: pegfilgrastim) is another granulocyte colony-stimulating factor.
