daunorubicin (brand names: Cerubidine, DaunoXome)

An anticancer drug that belongs to the family of drugs called antitumor antibiotics. It is also a type of anthracycline chemotherapy. Adriamycin (chemical name: doxorubicin), Doxil (chemical name: doxorubicin), Ellence (chemical name: epirubicin), and mitoxantrone (brand name: Novantrone) are other anthracyclines.
