blood transfusion

(BLUD trans-FYOO-zhun)

This is when blood, or parts of the blood, are injected into a person's blood vessel. It may be done after you lose a lot of blood. It may also be done when you don't have enough of a certain part of the blood, like platelets or red blood cells.
