aminoglutethimide

(a-MEE-no-glu-teth-a-myde)

An anticancer drug that belongs to the family of drugs called nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitors. Aminoglutethimide is used to reduce the production of sex hormones (estrogen or testosterone) and slow or stop the growth of cancer that depends on these hormones to grow.
