adjuvant therapy

(AD-joo-vant THER-uh-pee)

More treatment given to lower the chance of a cancer coming back. It comes after the main treatment plan. It may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, immune treatment, or newer forms of treatment.
