Sara Cohen, OTR/L, CLT-LANA

Sara Cohen, O.T.R./L., C.L.T.-L.A.N.A. is an occupational therapist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where she works with patients who have had breast cancer and lymphedema. She is also certified as a lymphedema therapist by the Lymphology Association of North America. She uses a wide range of therapeutic approaches to customize treatment for each person's unique condition. Her main goal is to help her clients assess the impact of lymphedema on their daily lives, and to provide options for managing this frustrating and perplexing condition. She has authored and co-authored articles in the journals Cancer, OT Practice, and Community Oncology about lymphedema and the role of occupational therapy in its management.

"What I find most satisfying and enjoyable about working with my clients with lymphedema," she says, "is listening to each woman's unique story and helping her make choices about her treatment, because there is not one simple answer for how to manage lymphedema."
